The new year is officially here. A few things to consider are new health and fitness routines, making more time for self-care, and taking advantage of your employer provided Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA). Massage therapy can be a great way to address all three and make positive changes as it is an excellent way to enhance your lifestyle and meet your health and fitness goals.


Let us look at those few ways that massage therapy can promote relaxation and self-healing in more detail.


  • A new health and fitness routine. Sports massage can aid in injury prevention and recovery. Additionally, massage can have a positive effect on the range of motion of limbs that had previously been constrained by tissue injury, inflammation, muscle tension, or strain. These benefits can keep your body on track so you are able to achieve all of your 2023 fitness goals.


  • Making more time for self-care. Massage therapy can relax your mind and help you manage stress. Relax and unwind with a Swedish massage. Give your body a little love, it deserves it.


  • Taking advantage of your FSA/HSA. Next time you visit your primary care physician, ask about a referral for massage therapy to help treat your health needs. Medical massage can help to alleviate pain and other benefits as well.


However, someone might wonder how often one should I get a massage. I find that a good maintenance schedule is every four to six weeks, but if you are experiencing an issue, you may want to come in sooner. Massage therapy frequency is based on how your body responds to the sessions. Always listen to your body.


Massage therapy is not just a luxury; it is a way to a happier and healthier lifestyle.
